An air-portable flypack that survives baggage claim
Studio in a box type solutions aren't new, but here's my black box that is super-capable even while being super-light.
The ultralight flypack that we dubbed "Pipsqueak" (there's even a cool logo of a buff mouse flexing) is an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO SDI based all in one flypack, installed in a Nanuk case. Custom 3D printed designs and laser cut panels make the pack durable and good looking.
Pipsqueak is an exceptionally capable system for such a small package. It has 8 inputs, four outputs (a fifth if you count the USB C output) and has balanced XLR audio inputs front and center on the main panel. All of the important connections are surface mounted including a single power supply connection that powers all of the devices inside.
Setup is as easy as opening the case on the AV table, plugging in power, then connecting all of your sources and destinations. The system can be operated entirely from the control surface of the ATEM or it can be connected to ethernet or USB C control systems for direct ATEM software access.
The internal encoders that enable the ISO recording also enable the system to stream even without needing an external computer.
Pipsqueak is designed to be a great addition to any presentation room plan, providing the means for full AV control of a room and for a rapid deployment video pipeline.
